Happy birthday to Kasey!

Our kitty is 3! Her birthday is actually tomorrow, March 3rd, but we like to celebrate it on the 1st, to go along with the rest of the birthdays in our family. Lee's is June 1st, mine is August 1st, Molly's is September 1st, and Adam had to be a little different. His is on October 11th.

Molly had been begging for a cat for some time, and a lady that Lee works with had a kitten that she was giving away. She was about 11 weeks old. When we saw that she was black and white, I suggested a name like Oreo, but Molly already had a name picked out--Kasey. With a K. I have no idea where she got that name, but if that's what she wants to name her long-awaited cat, I guess we'll live with it.
Kasey has quite a temper, and she will let any violator know when they have crossed the line. She hates to be picked up when she doesn't want to be picked up. And we all have the scratches to prove it! She is only voluntarily affectionate to mom. She barely tolerates Molly's constant attention and being dragged around like a rag doll, even though she is certainly vocal about it. She likes to lay in the office chairs, sit in the window sill keeping a lookout for birds and squirrels who dare to venture into the backyard, and play with any string that happens to be lying around. She has been known to reach into Mom's sewing drawer to find strings and strips of fabric to play with.
